Free movie marathon not "Impossible" for Novi Theaters
By Arianna Smith
No action adventure thriller would be complete without a trailer full of hair raising detonations, black suited spy brawls and dangerous, ‘Will-they-won’t-they-make-it’ situations, and the new teasers for Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation has no shortage of any. After being released fifteen years after the first Mission Impossible, fans are interested to see if the fifth installment lives up to its explosive namesake. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the new Mission Impossible is set to open to the public on July 31. The movie has a liberal sprinkling of stars like Jeremy Renner who has become well known to comic fans as Hawkeye in the Avenger’s franchise, Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson, and of course Tom Cruise as special agent Ethan Hunt, who also helped produce the movie.
In the movie, Hunt and his team of Ilsa Faust (Ferguson) and William Brandt (Renner) take on a rogue cell of specially trained agents called the Syndicate. Cruise and McQuarrie followed the current trend in movies of using almost no stunt doubles to give the film a more realistic feel. Early critiques and reviews are looking good for the latest espionage flick, if the gleeful crowd of fans at the Vienna Rogue Nation premiere was anything to go by.
Unlike the paid Vienna event, Emagine theaters in Novi Township is premiering a special, free Mission Impossible Marathon this week leading up to the unveiling of the new movie. No super spy cameo appearances have been announced, but the payment free Mission Impossible binge will have no trouble attracting Ethan Hunt fans.
